LemnaYellow is a yellow-brown powder produced by fermentation. It contains natural zeaxanthin and small amount of other carotenoids such as lycopene and β-carotene.

Zeaxanthin is a naturally occurring pigment. Its meso-form ((3R, 3R)-zeaxanthin) was found in chrysanthemum and goji berries.Which both are common herbal ingredient in Chinese medicine for improving eyesight.

Zeaxanthin and lutein are the two carotenoids that found accumulate in the lens and retina of the human eyes.Research has demonstrated that age- and diet-related loss of them enhances phototoxic damage to the human eye.And the supplementation of these carotenoids has a protective effect against photo-induced damage through quenching of reactive oxygen and absorbing blue light.
